What a great post about the extraordinary Hal Blaine and Jim Keltner.
When I listen to their work, I often think their brilliance (and that of the others in the Wrecking Crew) was in serving the song and in knowing not just what to play but also when to play. They were masters at both the sound and the silence.
I don't mind you using my photo of Hal Blaine for free (since Wikipedia seems to be doing that too) but a credit might be nice. I took this during the sessions for Angel Corpus Christi's album "White Courtesy Phone" at the Record Plant in Sausalito. Thanks - howard thompson
